過去進行時用法總結，從句是一組有意義的詞，但往往不是完整的句子。有些從句以“當”這個詞開頭，例如“當她打電話時”或“當它咬我時”。還有一些從句以while開頭，比如“while she was sleeping”和“while he was surfing”。當你談論過去的事情時，When通常后面跟動詞的一般過去時，而while通常后面跟過去進行時。While表達了“在那段時間”的意思。研究下面的例子。它們有相似的意思，但是它們強調句子的不同部分。
